It is essential that we protect ourselves from inside out. Food proves to be one of the best fighting agents against pollution. What to eat? Chilli peppers, oranges, kiwis, kale, almonds, olive oil, flaxseeds, chia seeds, carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, etc. All these foods are filled with antioxidants which greatly help curb the repercussions of pollution. We say this because the smog or the hazy air we see in winter mornings is nothing but a mixture of smoke and fog. So, all you are doing is breathing pollution, and if inhaled continuously, it could lead to severe health problems. However, if you don’t want to give your walk a miss, you can go around 11 or 11:30 am when the smog has considerately settled.  

Sweat It Out

Despite taking meticulous steps to duck pollution, it still manages to seep in your system. Luckily, there is a solution to that as well. You can pull out pollutants from your body through the skin. Take a steam bath regularly and add some drops of eucalyptus oil to the water for added benefits. This will cleanse the skin. For those suffering from breathing problems, is it advised to take inhale steam a couple of times during the day to clean your respiratory tract. Gargling with saline water also helps relax the throat and washing your face and eyes after coming home will help soothe the burning eyes.

Invest In A Car/Home Air Purifier

Infants, people with lung diseases and the elderly are more prone to get affected by air pollution. And since polluted air is omnipresent, it pushes the need for a good home and car air purifier. It helps subdue pollutants and keep the AQI (Air Quality Index) relatably better.
