Who doesn’t love chocolates? And this brand just gave us more reasons to indulge in these ‘guilt-free’ delights. ‘Kocoatrait’ has kept the theme of sustainability central and is proudly boasting as the world’s first zero-waste chocolate brand. Poonam Chordia and Nitin Chordia have developed chocolates that use organic cocoa beans of Indian origin, mostly from Kerala, and the sugar is also traditional non-refined khandsari (muscovado) sugar. Their flavours are totally natural and no flavour oils are added.

The packaging is also done using cocoa husk paper which to completely upcycled, plastic and paper-free, recyclable, biodegradable and compostable.

Along with this, they have tried and minimized every millimeter of packaging used, which helps them optimise their transport volume and ultimately reduces carbon footprint. Adding a feather to their cap, Kocoatrait has extended their arms in the community sector by designing their wrapper at V-Excel Educational Trust aiming at supporting individuals with special needs. These chocolates are soon going to hit the Indian market.
