We have all heard of the infamous mid-life crisis that most people start experiencing in their late 40s. But lately, this age has come down to early 30s and even 20s, giving it the name ‘quarter-life crisis’. Some of us at this age, are at crossroads of our life and are absolutely clueless about what to do. If you too can relate to this and don’t have it all figured out by 25, then don’t worry. Because you are not alone.

Stop Comparing

Comparisons made with your peers or friends can bring in a lot of negativity. Social media may be the culprit here. Once you stop comparing yourself, you will feel less pressured. Allow change to unfold at its own pace.

Stop saying ‘I should have’

Saying I should have means you are trying to live your life according to someone else’s standards. Stop this immediately. See what you want and try to accomplish that. Replace the ‘I should have’ to ‘I want to’.

Get a clear picture in your mind of the things most important to you. Work towards ensuring that your priorities are taken care of first. As you get clear about your priorities, you will gain more clarity on what you truly want.

Change your environment

Sometimes a change in environment is all that is needed to help you re-connect with yourself. You can change your state of mind and make changes as to how you want your life to be.

The most successful people have dared to dream. They go around with a mindset where anything is possible and are ready to brainstorm. Allow yourself to dream without limits or boundaries. Only if you dream, will you create the most exciting goal for yourself.

Be patient

Dreams are not fulfilled immediately. As the saying goes “Rome was not built in a day”. You have to be patient. Your efforts will bear fruits.

Remember life is never perfect

Life is never perfect. But that is not something to worry about. Nothing is perfect. We should take life the way it is. Waiting for perfection can hold you back. Remember what you have going on for you, that is what makes it perfect.

Stand up for yourself

Believe in your dreams. People around you may want the best for you. But that doesn’t mean that they know what is best for you. Learn to stand up for things that you believe in.

Be patient, be kind with yourself as you experience the most exciting life-changing phase of your life.
